Helen Juanita Parker, 82, of Redfield, Kan., died Wednesday morning Aug. 26, 2009 at the Fort Scott Manor.
She was born Oct. 21, 1926, in Centerville, Kan., the daughter of Harry Anderson and Nellie Leona (Paddock) Cowel.
She married Charles Franklin 'Pete' Parker Dec. 24, 1945 in Fort Scott, Kansas. He preceded her in death March 4, 1999.
She is survived by her children; Charles Allen Parker of Redfield, Kan., Ron Parker, also of Redfield, Kan., Frank Parker, of Fort Scott, Kan., and Linda Kay Moore, of Redfield, Kan., two brothers; Charles 'Tuck' Cowel, and Delbert Cowel, both of Wichita, Kan., a sister; Harriet Powers of Stevenson, Wash., two sisters-in-law; Helen Cowel of Wichita, Kan., and Nancy Cowel of Gardner, Kan., nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Pete, she was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers; William 'Bill' Cowel, and Bernard Cowel, and a great-grandson; Paul Parker.
Rev. R.B. Shoemaker will conduct funeral services for Helen 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, with burial following at the Centerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening Aug. 28, 2009 from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
