Officers responded to a total of five prowler calls over the weekend. Between the hours of 11 p.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Sunday, four calls were made to the Fort Scott Police Department about a prowler in the city, a fifth call was made approximately 10 p.m. Sunday night.
Although no reports were filed, FSPD Lt. Travis Shelton recommends residents report any suspicious behavior -- especially late at night and early in the morning.
"We encourage people to call if they see somebody suspicious," Shelton said. "It is definitely not a waste of time."
Shelton said the FSPD receives prowler calls frequently. He added, residents can never tell when some one is walking down the street or if they are "up to no good."

Officers responded to a total of five prowler calls over the weekend, but one resident called 4 times (over the weekend), for the police to investigate. i am pleased to see the concern of the FSPD. we seem to have more officers on the force now that do really care, then we have had in the past.:)
Mr.X would like to send kudos out to all the Officers on the FSPD. Who care enough to go to these calls yes some maybe a strange noise or just someone walking by,but yet they came and they put peoples minds at ease. Yes they do have alot of caring officers on the dept now I've met many of them out on the street and when they just drive by my home and wave. They all have been doing a great job keeping all of us safe.
So when you see them raise a hand and wave at them let them know you care about the job they are doing. They are trying very hard to keep us and our kids safe. Plus it lets them know you care about them as well and I'm sure it makes their day as well.
Thanks Officers very much.
Mr.X
