72nd Bronson Alumni Banquet

The annual 72nd Bronson Alumni Banquet was held. May 23 in the Bronson Community Building. There were 85 alumni and guests in attendance.

President, Ednamarie (Sharkey) Jackson welcomed everyone. Chub Boiling gave the invocation. The National Anthem was sung, accompanied by Loma (Heywood) Carlton, and the Flag Salute was given.

The meal was served by the Uniontown FFA and their sponsor Kevin Gleason. It was prepared by Darcy Sinn of Fort Scott. The tables were decorated with purple and white table clothes.

Program consisted of Joey Neville singing several patriotic songs and Coral (Heywood) Face, accompanied by Loma (Heywood) Carlton, singing several songs.

Wanda (Wiggins) Woodard placed 11 purple and white roses in a vase for the deceased alumni.

Julia Ann (Camac) Rhoton read the minutes from the previous year. They were approved as read.

Janice (Leadstrom) Olson and Marsha (Drake) Deer announced the Hall of Fame inductions. They were

* Armed Forces: Danny Shinn;

* Mabel (Watson) Nicholas, deceased, for many years as Coresponding Secretary. Her daughter Thora (Nicholas) Shinn acceptedthe award

* Rex Wilson for community service.

Janice (Leadstrom) Olson gave the treasurer's report and moved that we give $150 to City of Bronson for the use of the Community Building. She also reported on scholarships and that we didn't have any names.

The nominating report was given by Geri (Wolford) Reeder. They nominees were: President, Bonnie Stewart; Vice-President, Alan Stewart; Secretary, Helen (Dark) Boiling; Corresponding Secretary/ Treasurer, Janice (Leadstrom) Olson.

C. W. Rhoton moved that they be elected by acclamation. It was seconded and motion carried.

Janice (Leadstrom) Olson recognized the Class of 1949 and Class of 1959. She asked for a show of hands for each class, then read a poem Alabama Grandma's Recipe for a Newlywed.

Meeting closed by singing the school song White and Purple and Till We Meet Again.
