At the last meeting in Blue Mound, there were 18 Red Hats and seven men who enjoyed a wonderful lasagna dinner topped off with strawberry shortcake.
There was an announcement about the Lunch Bunch, spearheaded by Kathy Crozier, which will meet on the second Tuesday of the month, starting in September.
The Mapleton Methodist Church have tickets available for the Oct. 10th showing of "Church Basement Ladies" at the New Dinner Theatre. Contact Glen or Deana Wier for more information.
Sept. 18-20 will be one of those weekends when all the Red Hats get together. It's the fifth anniversary of the Mapleton Red Hats and there will be super weekend events. A listing of the events will be out shortly. Just a clue: There will be food, shopping, more food, sharing, learning, exchanging of interests, ice cream, worship, family time, and of course more food. It's quite a weekend planned that you won't want to miss.
November and December will also be months when the whole group gets together for fun and -- you guessed it --more food.
Pick up your Red Hat and join one of these two great groups based out of Mapleton. We have ladies from Mapleton, Fort Scott, Blue Mound, Mound City, and Olathe. If you like to visit and have fun and eat, you're always welcome. There's even room for the guys (in their own little group, of course).
