A suspect was arrested shortly after robbing a local convenience store early Thursday morning.

Fort Scott Police Department Lt. Travis Shelton said officers arrested Lonell Moore Jr., at 7:48 a.m. for his involvement in an early morning robbery at Pump 'N Pete's, 1920 S. Main St.

FSPD officers responded to an alarm at 4:45 a.m. where store personnel reported that a robbery had occurred in which an undisclosed amount of money was stolen. The employee also said the suspect had left the store in a green Dodge Neon which had a North Carolina license plate.

Moore was arrested after officers located a vehicle matching the witness' description in the 900 block of South Barbee Street just three hours after reporting to the scene.

Shelton said the department is not releasing details yet as the incident is still under investigation.

"We got this at 4:45 and we are still working and doing interviews," Shelton said. "We don't want to compromise our investigation this early."

Early investigations of the incident lead to two additional, unrelated arrests. Officers arrested Cadillac McNack, 57, and John Adams, 55, after conducting eyewitness interviews and discovering McNack was wanted on a Bourbon County warrant and Adams on an Allen County warrant.
