DEWEY MAX HILL SR

Dewey Max Hill Sr., age 81, resident of Uniontown, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Mercy Health Center. He was born October 9, 1927 in Clifton, Kansas, the son of Irvin Hill and Mary Johnson Hill. Dewey was a veteran of WWII serving with the United States Air Force. He married Lois Kathleen Brown on December 13, 1952 in Douglas, Wyoming. He was retired as a driller with a oil company. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kay, of the home; his children, Kenneth Brown and wife Janice, Richard Hill and wife Janie, all of Bakersfield, California, Dewey Hill Jr. and Charles Hill and wife Cheryl, all of Uniontown, Wilma Graham and husband Larry, Redfield, Kansas, Diana Sullivan and husband Alan, Bakersfield, California, Shasta Clay, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and Brokrick Glessner, of the home. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 3 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Vincent Hill.

There was cremation. Pastor Marty DeWitt will conduct a memorial service at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown. Burial will take place at a later date in Bakersfield, California. Memorials are suggested to the First Missionary Baptist Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
