Truman Lee Bobbett, 65, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. He was born June 27, 1943, in Nevada, to Jacob Edward Bobbett and Mildred Jaunita Bobbett. He married Polly Rowland in 1965 and to this union a daughter, Jodi was born.

Truman grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1961. He worked at Capri Bowl before joining the United States Air Force in 1964. From 1965 to 1967, he served as Sergeant in the Vietnam War as a jet mechanic. While in the service, he received many medals and awards. In 1968, following the service, he started working for the United States Post Office. After retiring from the Post Office due to disability, Truman attended Computer Tech School in Kansas City and then began working at Texas Instruments. He then returned to Nevada and worked with his sister in a commercial cleaning business "At Your Service Cleaning Service" which later he purchased in 1998 and has operated ever since. Truman loved his garden and his farm animals. He was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include his companion, Polly Rowland, Nevada; one daughter, Jodi Sparks and husband Homer, Nevada; two grandsons, Ross and Anthony Pilcher, Nevada; his mother, Mildred J. Bobbett, Nevada; three sisters, LaDeane Beisly and her husband Norman, Nevada, Elaine Malcom and her husband Don, Sheldon, Mo., Patrice Harris and her husband David, Nevada; two brothers, DeVere Bobbett and his wife Barbara, Stockton, Mo., and Harlan Bobbett, Nevada, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Bobbett, and one brother, Darrell Bobbett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
