How does someone bench press 550 pounds, and I recently heard that Nichols had lifted 600 pounds at a meet in Iowa. Can anyone say STEROIDS?

Thank you for your comments mightymouth, but unfortunately for you steroids are not in the picture. See the meet in Iowa is sanctioned, which means that all lifters are tested for illegal and controlled substances, as are the others meets I attend. So all I have to blame my strenght on is hard work and determination. For the record I did lift 600 in Iowa, but my best lift is 635. 40 and all natural baby, not bad for an old man.

Hey now, I definitely did'nt mean any disrespect, especially to someone that could probably throw me through a brick wall if they wanted. I just think it is awesome that someone in this area has that kind of strength and raw power. Keep lifting, I know I will. I obviously have a long way to go.

WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE STEROIDS. LETS GET ONE THING STRAIGHT, I HAVE NEVER DONE STEROIDS. STEROIDS DID HOWEVER CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEATH OF A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY. STEROIDS WILL NOT MAKE YOU LIFT 600, 500, 400, OR EVEN 300 POUNDS. THEY DO ALLOW YOU TO WORK OUT LONGER, HARDER , AND RECOVER MORE QUICKLY. YOU STILL HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO LIFTED IN THIS EVENT. I PERSONALLY HAD A GREAT TIME. BY THE WAY, WHERE'S MY TROPHY NICHOLS?
