One-car accident Thursday

Tuesday, June 16, 2009
The Bourbon County Sheriff's Department suspects the involvement of alcohol in an accident Thursday night.

Bourbon County Sheriff Deputy Michael Feagins responded to a call at 8:50 p.m. regarding a one-vehicle accident on Indian Road.

Brandi Saker of Uniontown was traveling west-bound on Indian Road when her vehicle went off the north side of the road and struck a guardrail. According to Feagins' report, the impact caused the guardrail to enter the vehicle through the windshield on the driver's side and exit the vehicle through the back window.

According to the report, Saker was taken to Mercy Health Center and treated for injuries. The report did not include the severity of the injuries.

According to Bourbon County Sheriff Ron Gray, Saker's blood was drawn shortly after the accident to determine her blood alcohol content. Bourbon County Undersheriff Bill Martin said the Bourbon County Sheriff's Department is currently investigating whether alcohol was involved in the accident. No details have been released at this time.
