The 28th Annual Good Ol' Days Festival baby contest had an above-average turnout last weekend.

Despite the addition of a $1 entry fee, the contest received 122 entries. Event Coordinator Lynette Emmerson said this year was a slight increase from last year.

"I was kind of surprised," Emmerson said.

Emmerson said the judges, all from out-of-town, based their judgments on each baby's overall appearance as well as personality. She said if the baby does something interesting, it makes an impact on the judges.

In efforts to speed up the event, Emmerson said the registration process was reorganized.
