He was born December 23, 1932 in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Russell McDonald and Gladys Gertrude Taylor.
He attended Pittsburg State Teachers College and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, and served during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps.
He worked as a Housing Construction Administrator, and was a member of Rotary.
He is survived by a son; Kenton Taylor of La Honda, CA, and a Daughter; Tracy Taylor of Gilbert, Arizona, four grandchildren, and a former wife; Kathleen Bolze.
He was preceded in death by a former wife; Antoinette Marie Franklin.
VFW Chaplain James R. Stradley will officiate graveside services 10 a.m Thursday, June 2009 at the West Liberty Cemetery.
Military honors will be conducted by the Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Detail.
