Monday, June 1, 2009

Area residents who want to learn more about important issues facing the country, can attend an upcoming meeting with Kan. Congressman Jerry Moran (R).

At 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center Crest Room, 11902 Lowell, Overland Park, Moran will conduct a town hall meeting in order to talk with Kansas residents about various political issues facing Kansans.

Moran will discuss his support of the Fair Tax House Bill HR-25. According to www.fairtax.org, the Fair Tax is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach. The Fair Tax includes a progressive national retail sales tax; a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level; dollar-for-

dollar federal revenue neutrality and repeal of the 16th Amendment through companion legislation.

In addition, event attendees will have an opportunity to ask Moran questions. Residents who plan to attend the event should RSVP to townhall@moranforkansas.com.
