MERITA FERN SHEEHY

Merita Fern Sheehy, 61, of Fort Scott, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 13, 2009. She was born Sept. 26, 1947, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Ross and Bessie Fern (Ruby) Riley.

Merita owned and operated R & R Building Supply from 1973 until 2004, and was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son; Joseph Sheehy, of Fort Scott, a sister; Michel Schaub, of Fort Scott, three grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Father Darrin May will conduct the Funeral Mass for Merita 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Mary Queen of Angels, with burial following at the St. Mary's Cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday evening, May 15, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
