Merita owned and operated R & R Building Supply from 1973 until 2004, and was a member of the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son; Joseph Sheehy, of Fort Scott, a sister; Michel Schaub, of Fort Scott, three grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Father Darrin May will conduct the Funeral Mass for Merita 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Mary Queen of Angels, with burial following at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday evening, May 15, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
