E-Waste Recycling coming to Bourbon County

Area resident will have the opportunity to recycle electronic items.

E-Waste Recycling will be in Fort Scott Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Walmart, 2500 S. Main St., to accept electronic items for recycling.

Items accepted include: televisions, computers, monitors, digital cameras, stereos, AV equipment, microwaves, VCRs, DVD players, and CD players.

This collection will occur as a "drive thru." Donations are free for individuals in Bourbon, Crawford, Cherokee, Neosho, Labette and Wilson Counties. Montgomery County residents are not eligible under this grant program for this free service. A separate collection will be scheduled for schools, businesses, government agencies and non-profit groups.

The collection could end earlier if a large quantity of items are received. E-Waste Recycling reserves the right to refuse non-approved items.

The event is sponsored by SEK Recycling, Walmart, The Morning Sun, Coca Cola Enterprises, and The Fort Scott Tribune.
