Dixie Mae Agnew, age 83, a former resident of Grandview and Clinton, Mo., and more recently of Prescott, Kan., died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Country View Nursing Home in Prescott.
She was born January 27, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo. She married Jack Agnew. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1974.
Survivors include three sons: David Agnew and wife, Anna, of Kentucky; William Agnew, Raytown, Mo.; and Jimmy Agnew, New York, New York; two daughters: Rebecca Lloyd and husband, Ronald, Fort Scott, Kan.; and Alice Young and husband, Lester, Fort Scott, Kan. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Johnny Agnew, five brothers and four sisters.
Rev. Reed Hartford will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday at the Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Mo. Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
