All-Star Game at Pittsburg Sunday

PITTSBURG -- Southeast Kansas high school basketball coaches have selected 41 of the top senior boy and girl basketball players to participate in the 2009 U.S. Army SEK All-Star Game on Sunday at the St. Mary's-Colgan Fieldhouse at 10th and Locust in Pittsburg.

Fort Scott High's Alex Barner and Kori Page Rienbolt have been chosen to participate in the event. Activities begin at 1 p.m. with the girls' all-star game. There will also be three-point shooting contests for both boys and girls between the games.

The boys' all-star game will be played following the three-point contests with a slam-dunk contest at halftime.

The third annual event is coordinated by the KSEK radio stations in Pittsburg, Free FM 99.1 and ESPN 1340 The Ticket, in addition to Max 93.5 FM and KLKC 1540 AM of Parsons.

Sponsors include the Crawford County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Woody's Smokehouse and Ace Cronister Hardware. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
