Eldon Glen "Bear" Hall, 84, of Peculiar, Mo. and formerly of Fort Scott, Kan., died at the Camden Health Care Center in Harrisonville, Mo. Friday evening, Feb. 20, 2009. He was born June 6, 1924 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of John and Myrtle (McKey) Hall.

He married Donna Hunsicker Nov. 15, 1945 in Fort Scott, Kan. She preceded him in death March 4, 1995.

He later married Linda Ann Williams, Jan. 1, 1998 in Bronson, Kan. She survives of the home.

He was a farmer, and was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service, and retired in 1997 with 32 years of service.

In addition to his wife Linda, Eldon is survived by his daughter: Gayle Farris, of Fort Scott; a step son: Daniel Williams, of Fort Scott; a step-daughter: Lisa Stueben, of Guthrie, Okla.; a sister: Margie Emmerson, of Hiawatha, Kan.; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Donna, two sons: Glenn and Larry Hall, a daughter: Margie Metcalf and four sisters: Faye Mertz, Nelda Seda, Anna Bell Gorman and Naomi Dunn.

James R. Stradley will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 23, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
