"Excellent opportunity this weekend for us to begin the build up for regionals and state," Fort Scott head coach David Brown said. "Every wrestler found new opportunities to learn and over the next few weeks we hope to take advantage of those nuggets of knowledge."
Teams here included Warrensburg (Mo.), which won the team title, Class 5A Great Bend and Bishop Miege, and Southeast Kansas League rival Pittsburg.
The Tigers finished seventh in the 10-team field. Michael Durossette finished in third place in the 130-pound class while Denzell Davis was third at 199.
Justin Sharp took fourth place at 119 pounds while Lee Culbertson finished fourth at 152.
The Tigers will play host to Labette County and Independence Thursday night, which will also be Senior Night. Action is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. This will be the last home appearance of the season for the varsity team although the JV will host a tournament Saturday.
