Lady Tiger freshmen fall to Sherwood

CREIGHTON, Mo. -- he Nevada Lady Tiger freshman basketball team suffered their eighth loss of the year in a very tough contest against Sherwood High School's junior varsity Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers found themselves in a deep hole from the outset of the game and eventually went into the locker room at halftime down 35-7. "The girls just couldn't seem to find their rhythm in the first half," head coach Clay Wheeler said.

The Lady Tigers came out an played much better in the second half, but simply couldn't stop the Lady Marksmen's strong offensive game. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Marksmen found themselves on the high end of the 55-16 final score.

Leah Creasy had a very strong game for the Lady Tigers, as she was responsible for more than half of Nevada's scoring in the game. Creasy finished out the contest with 10 points.

The Lady Tigers will hope to bounce back and get back on the winning track on Thursday, Feb. 5, as they travel to Harrisonville High School.
