Nena Maureen O'Sullivan Reed, 69, of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 18, 2009 at the Mercy Health Center.
She was born Oct. 23, 1939 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of James M. and Edith G. (King) Moore.
Her parents died when she was an infant, and she was adopted by William and Etta Baker, and she lived in Lemay, Mo., until moving to California.
She married Robert "Bob" Jean Reed, Jan. 8, 1955 in Escondido, Calif.
She loved violets, sunshine, and animals, and was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home, a daughter; Dara Jackson and husband Bob, of Fort Scott, two sisters; Willa Mae Roth, of Colo., Zelma York, of Calif., four grandchildren; Emily Zuniga, Jordan Heiland, Tucker and Sullivan Jackson, two great-grandchildren; Donovan and Maylina Zuniga, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her adoptive parents, two sisters; Clovie Manning, and Dolly Glansdorp, and a son; Robin Alan Reed.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated and will be interred in California alongside her son, at a later date.
The family will hold private services at that time.
