He was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Galt, Ontario, Canada, the son of William Harrison Elliott and Hattie M. Gill Elliott.
Carl graduated from the Mound City High School in 1937. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Carl married Dorothy Poole on Jan. 20, 1943, at Fort Scott. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2005.
He was a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church and the Fulton Masonic Lodge as well as the Iza Stompers Square Dance Club.
Survivors include a son, Larry Elliott and wife, Karen of Shawnee, Kan.; two grandchildren, Cory Dustin Elliott, Merriam, Kan., and Kira Nichele Fidler, Fort Riley, Kan.; and five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Olivia, Zachary, Aiden, and Ella.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Mae Elliott and an infant son, Richard Clyne Elliott; five brothers, Cress, Roy, Earl, Bert, and Fred Elliott; and four sisters Zella Pease, Ina Davis, Ethel Haas, and Edith Elliott.
Pastor Kenneth Wood will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at the Fulton United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.
Services are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Fulton United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kan. 66701.
