ONLINE FIRST: Ronald Puterbaugh named new Chief of Police

The City of Fort Scott announced today that Ronald Puterbaugh will be the new Chief of Police.

Puterbaugh has 27 years in law enforcement and has spent the last 23 years with the Ottawa Police Department. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia Southern University. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, Central States LEEDS, Kansas Certified First Responder, Rotary and numerous other schools and training in law enforcement fields.

Puterbaugh will assume his new duties effective March 4.
