Members of the community are invited to participate in a celebration of thanksgiving and fellowship.

The Fort Scott Ministerial Alliance is conducting a Community Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the First Baptist Church, 123 Scott Street.

Worship for the annual event will be conducted by the Cherry Grove Baptist Cherry Jammers with special musical performances by the Fort Scott High School Choir and FSHS Orchestra. First Baptist Church Pastor Tim Davish will deliver this year's Thanksgiving message.

A special offering will be collected at this year's event. While in years past, monetary donations were collected for specific causes, this year organizers are asking anyone who wishes to participate in the offering to bring non-perishable food items instead of money. The food items will be given to Mother to Mother Ministries in Fort Scott. Mother to Mother Ministries provides programs which meet the varied needs of single mothers in Bourbon County the food items will assist the agency in meeting these needs.
