Sleigh bells ring, children sing and mom is busy in the kitchen preparing a holiday feast. If your holiday season seems like a blur of shopping, cooking, cleaning and frantically putting a party together, you are probably glad when the New Year arrives.

Enjoying the holiday doesn't have to be just for other family members. Hosts too can enjoy the spirit of the season with a little help from the Taste of Home Cooking School.

Visit www.tasteofhome.com and search for some great new recipes that might become holiday traditions for the family. While making special recipe selections, individuals can also visit the Cooking School site.

While browsing through the list of shows in Kansas, residents will be pleased to find the Cooking School is coming to Fort Scott's Memorial Hall on Thursday, Nov. 20.

"Homemade for the Holidays" the theme of this year's holiday program is sure to have a bundle of recipes you will want to serve at your celebrations.

Taste of Home provides quick, easy and delicious recipes that will save time in the kitchen and get party hosts back to the festivities.

As the world's largest cooking magazine, Taste of Home has plenty of tips to help holiday seasons become stress free.

Today's lifestyle is all about keeping it casual, so set out a buffet. It's a time-saver that's great for getting guests to mingle and share conversation. Why not try "Pork Tenderloin with Sesame Seeds"?

Culinary Specialist Martha Schwend will be presenting this flavorful recipe that's perfect for the dinner buffet table. The pork is marinated, then roasted and can be served cold on a small dinner roll with plum sauce or hot mustard.

If planning an appetizer buffet, think crab cakes. They're an "in" appetizer right now. Crab cakes with roasted red pepper remoulade sauce will add holiday color and flair to any party.

Whatever type of buffet is chosen, complete the smorgasbord with bite-size "Luscious Lemon Truffles." A combination of lemon curd, white chocolate chips rolled in toasted coconut, these easy-to-make candies will melt in your mouth.

Taste of Home Cooking School is pleased to be sponsoring the cooking presentation with The Fort Scott Tribune along with several well-known national food companies. They include Dofino Specialty Cheeses, Crisco Olive Oil, Crosse and Blackwell Seafood Classics, Dickinson's Preserves, Fruit Butters and Fruit Curds, Mrs. Dash Salt-Free Seasonings, Taste of Home Entertaining and Ziploc Containers and Freezer Bags.

Have fun this holiday season and make plans to attend the Taste of Home "Homemade for the Holidays" Cooking School program.

Tickets are available now at the following locations: The Fort Scott Tribune, Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce and Nevada Daily Mail, 131 S. Cedar, Nevada, Mo. The cost is $8 per ticket.
