MARTIN ROSS

Martin Earl Ross, age 56, a resident of Mapleton, Kansas, died Friday, October 24, 2008, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1952, in Macon, Missouri, the son of Noland Ross and Thelma Young Ross. He married Kathleen Rangel on April 3, 1970, in Overland Park, Kansas. Martin had worked as a truck driver for ten years prior to owning and operating M & K Auto Service in Mound City, Kansas. In addition to working on cars, he enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Pleasanton.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home; three sons, David Earl Ross, Fort Scott, Kansas, John Martin Ross, Fort Scott, Kansas, and Daniel Lee Ross, Linn Valley, Kansas; and a daughter, Suzie Renee Cliffman, Fort Scott. Also surviving are his parents, Noland and Thelma Ross, Overland Park, Kansas; a brother, Larry Ross, Lawrence, Kansas; three sisters, Sharon Crumby, Harrisonville, Missouri, Faye Williams and Wanda Espinosa, both of Overland Park, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren, Tim, Matt, Elizabeth, Dylan, Eddie, Christy, Sarah, Essence, Eric, Alexis, Gavin, Olivia, Danielle, Tarin, and Malia; and a great-grandson, Gavin David.

Pastor Jim Cox will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mapleton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
