Survivors include three sons, Fletcher Wheeler and wife, Kay, Fort Scott, Kan., Jerry Wheeler and wife, Phyllis, Mounds View, Minn., and Rex Wheeler and wife, Lynne, Fort Scott, Kan.; and two daughters, Shirley Burcham, and husband, Bob, Fort Scott, and Cynthia Post, all of Fort Scott. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Eric Burcham and wife, Mary, Chris Comstock, and husband Rick, Michelle Shirley and husband, Tom, Lisa Wheeler, Jay Wheeler and wife, Jean, Doug Wheeler and wife, Rachel, R. W. Wheeler II and wife, Keisha, Yvette Pue and husband, Steve, Scott Sutton and wife, Sara, and Gregory D. Post; fifteen great-grandchildren, Mike Burcham, Hayley Kruse, Chase Comstock, Amber Comstock-Hunziker, and husband Ryan, Daniel Shirley, Kaitlyn Shirley, Reid Wheeler, Tom Wheeler, Mason Wheeler, M. Jay Wheeler, Fletcher Wheeler, Nicole Pue, Josh Wheeler II, Jocelyn Wheeler, and R. W. Wheeler III; and a great-great-granddaughter, Cadence Hunziker. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Earl Barker and Orville Barker, a sister Cleta Hobbs, and a grandson Josh Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Hiattville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Hiattville United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association or the Mercy Hospital Palative Care Unit and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
