Fort Scott Community College's volleyball team played at different levels during a Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division match with Allen County here Wednesday night.

The Greyhounds were swept 25-8, 25-23, 25-17. It was the 30th consecutive loss for Fort Scott (0-9 East, 0-25 overall) going back to last season.

In the first game, the Greyhounds had trouble building any momentum at all as the Red Devils (3-5, 14-19) had an early run of 9-2 and also scored the game's last eight points.

In game two, played much more competitively, jumping out to a 5-2 lead and fighting back to hold a pair of one-point leads. Down 24-20, the 'Hounds managed to score three points and threaten to take the game farther before Jennifer House's kill finally gave Allen County the win.

Game three had elements of each of the first two. Fort Scott fought to stay close early before Allen County went up 21-10. A late 'Hound run closed the gap to 22-17 before the Devils finished things off.

Beth Brittain had five kills and two blocks for the 'Hounds. Crystal Colvin had three kills and two aces. Tristen McGrath dished eight assists.
