Through the combined efforts of several law enforcement departments, a Bourbon County man was apprehended.

According to the Fort Scott Police Department, at 10:46 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, local police received word that Ronald Wayne Bolin, who had an active warrant, was in town. After being given a description of the vehicle he was riding in, law enforcement made contact with the vehicle at 1122 Clark.

At this point, the vehicle sped off and the police began a vehicular pursuit. The chase ended at 304 Wilson at which time Ronald Wayne Bolin fled the scene on foot. Stacie Elaine Clements, 31, of 951 245 Street, Fort Scott; Brooke Renee Bolin, 31, 304 S. Wilson, Fort Scott; and Jay Michael Clements, 31, 951 245 Street, Fort Scott; were arrested on various charges which included aiding a felon. Since a juvenile was present in the vehicle at the time of the chase, the occupants were also charged with child endangerment. The child was taken into protective police custody at the scene.

Some time after the arrests, Bolin was apprehended on charges of obstruction of legal process, endangering a child, and a Bourbon County warrant for obstruction of legal process, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggravated escape. According to the FSPD other charges may be filed by the Bourbon County Attorney's office at a later date.

Various agencies, including Southeast Kansas Drug Task Force, the local police department, Bourbon County Sheriff Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol, cooperated in apprehending the suspects.

The vision card isn't going away, the drugs aren't going away and neither is the Fort Scott Tribune. Try to find a way to resolve these situations instead of complaining about them.

And you were there when Ronnie Wayne ( sold) this drug? Did you tell the cops? Did you report him? Did you see him do drugs? I do not know 100% if Ronnie Wayne sold this drug. I am just going on what his close friends have told me.I was NOT there. Do you know something that we, the family, do not know? I said that I am not on here to make excuses for Ronnie's actions. It is just a shame that people come on here for one reason only and that is to bad mouth people they read about in the newspaper and act like they are perfect and have never made a mistake or have any family or friends that have made mistakes. Why do people get on here and do that? Do they feel surperior for having posts their (comments)?.I just posted on here because of the snooty bad mouthing name calling that a couple posters thought that they just HAD to post about these four young people arrested.I want Ronnie Wayne to do what he needs to do to make it right with the courts his family and society. I see no reason for anyone to come on here and put their 2 cents worth in when it is just to be rude and mean. The (Vision Card) remark was made by a poster who thinks that Ronnie,Jay,Brooke and Stacie must be using Vision Cards because they were not a work at 10:46a.m. that day.Family members of people arrested in Fort Scott do get on here and read the online Fort Scott Tribune. That is a reason for me not to say hurtful comments about them to make a bad situation worse for them by them reading mean rude comments from people.

As for Ronnie being a Big Bad Drug Dealer and just using and not selling...make sure you have your facts straight before posting a comment. Just because he may not have been charged with selling meth doesn't mean that he hasn't sold it. The Vision Card comment is ridiculous! I am a single mom that works and goes to school and I have a vision card to help make ends meet. Not everyone that is on welfare is a lazy, jobless person that is mooching off the system. Now I remember why I moved away from Ft. Scott...too many small minded people that only see things their way!

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! CLEAN THE SCUM OFF THE STREETS OF FORT SCOTT AND MAYBE SOME BUSINESS' MY FIND IT A GREAT PLACE TO INVEST IN ONCE AGAIN!!! GREAT JOB FSPD!!!

Things like the vision card have been metioned as well as other things that are not true due to the closed minded people in our society. People like to think they have the right and the power to classify people! It's an ignorance like racism. I know that question wasn't dirrected at me Ms Kitty but I just thought I would share my open minded veiws!

The "Vision Card" comment was brought up in the first post from ( whasup). I would like to know why it was mentioned too?

-- Posted by mother-of-6 on Sat, Oct 4, 2008, at 1:00 PM

Why on earth slam the VISION card? Not all people on assistance are on drugs or out of work. Ostertag and his wife were on food stamps all through his college days. THAT documented fact was in an interview with him and his wife some years back.

And how in the world did the subject (VISION CARD) come up? related to this topic? i don't think so.

Drugs have been around Fort Scott dating back to forever. Some get caught some don't. harboring a fugitive from the law....big problem.

As far as having your picture posted on the front page of a newspaper/magazine, well... think real hard next time, of your actions that brought the unrewarded fate.

And please do not tell me i don't know what i am talking about as far as drugs and fort scott. Anyone remember January 26th,1975? Check the reels at the library. Want to talk about "splash".

cari, i like your views.

I am not on here to make any excuses for the 4 people arrested . It just upsets me with the ones on here that think this is funny and it is not. And bring up Vission Cards for no other reason than to be snooty. Not many People are PERFECT. Are you???? Most people have or will make a mistake, or a bad decision in their life. Or they have friends or family members that have been in trouble. To come on this message board and point fingers and make cruel comments I just do not think is very nice or called for. It is a public message board and everyone has the right to post what they want to post. But to come on here and act all perfect and know it all and judgemental is not right in my opinion.I have never met one person in my lifetime that can look me in the eyes and say that they are perfect!! I just have known Ronnie Wayne from the day he was born.Ronnie Wayne has always been a nice guy. It sounds like that he just fell into a drug that takes ahold of many people. Yes he was on the run for a few months and that was wrong of him to do. He should of faced the law and the courts and took whatever was to come to him like a man. But he was scared and took off. He did spend time in jail awhile back for his drug posession charges. He then went to rehab. Then he missed his court date and went running. For those of you that think that he is this Big Bad Drug Dealer. He is not. He used , he did not make it or sell it. Using it is wrong none the less.I personally do not know why this drug(Meth) grabs people up and swallows them whole ? But it does. If Ronnie would of just kept going to his court dates, he would not of been in so much trouble. Running and hiding from the police was a BIG NO NO!!!! And I hate it that his daughter was in the vehicle. I know a few people that have went down the tubes because of this drug. They are not BAD PEOPLE , they use a BAD DRUG. To come on this message board and say how funny you think it is that they got caught and to type all your Ha Ha Ha's is quite childish in my opinion. I do not know Stacie ,and I have only met Jay a few times. I know nothing about their situation. As for Brooke, I do not know if she uses drugs. I have never seen her use drugs. I have never seen Ronnie do drugs.I just hear what I hear. If Ronnie and Brooke do have a drug problem, I pray for their recovery from this EVIL DRUG and hope they get they help they need. And if they have to spend a few months,or years in jail or rehab for their crime, well it is what it is. Sometimes it takes jail time and help programs to help people with drug addictions. And that is what I will be praying for.

FYI sex offenders are listed on the kbi website, with address and pictures and the nature of their crime, even a map showing the location of their address

-- Posted by mskitty on Sat, Oct 4, 2008, at 11:03 AM

I see that the mother of 6 is questioning me. Well, let me explain - the punishment that I was speaking of was the fact that they have been arrested and their pictures on the front page. I was born and raise in the not so great town of Fort Scott, and I know of the not so great people there. These four fit under that category! Drugs run rampant in that town, and I am glad that I got my family out of there years ago. Knowing they got mixed up in all of that, they will not get enough of a punishment. Let's just hope that others will learn from their mistakes!

By the way, yes, my parents taught me to be nice to people! Where were their parents when they should have been talking to them about making good choices? Oh that's right, Ronnie Wayne's dad was probably in jail, where he is right now....

Brooke's parents, well, let's just say, their teachings didn't work on their son, so they wouldn't have worked with Brooke.

-- Posted by ralph on Sat, Oct 4, 2008, at 11:01 AM

Amazing...why on earth did they feel the need to add there pictures...I too would rather see pictures of sex offenders and drug dealers, that way I can show my kids who in the heck to stay away from. I don't know about the other 3...but I just don't think that Stacie could be a drug dealer, she wouldn't hurt a fly on purpose...much less knowingly put her child or any one else's in danger. I just have a feeling that Stacie was in the wrong place at the wrong time, my heart really goes out to her...and the only thing she would be guilty of is having terrible friends. Hopefully this will open her eyes, because a true friend would never do this to you.

As for the comments about vision cards and not being at work... Again, I don't know about the other 3, but Stacie has always been a hard worker sense I have known her, as well as a high achiever. She was always successful at everything she put her mind to. Like I said before wrong place, wrong time, and wrong people. I wish her luck.

First of all I will not apologize for anything I said.

Second before you go and blame me for "HURTING" the family members of the 4 people arrested, THEY are the one's that caused this hurt. I SPEAK what I THINK.

Yes, I have had family members arrested not once but SEVERAL times. I have made these very same types of comments directly to their faces when they were arrested and with even more of a tone than I did on here. Did it hurt them? Yes, I am sure it did. Did it make them realize that what they did was stupid and irresponsible, yes it did. I supported them all the way through their ordeals along with using tough love and tough words that burn into their hearts and minds. I also let them know how hurtful their actions were and how damaging it was. I also told them about the ripple effect of hurt they caused MY family. I was disgusted and heartbroken at their stupidity for putting themselves in this situation and have it cause MY family this same hurt you are talking about. Yes, I have been there with that many times. Did other people's comments hurt me, maybe, but not to the point of me defending their stupid actions and making excuses for their choices.

If you would quit making excuses for them and tell THEM how THEY have hurt you and your family, then maybe they would eventually learn to pick and choose whom they spend their hard-earned vacation with.

I am happy that at least 2 of them are gainfully employed, pay their taxes as well as have earned vacation time. I hope for their sake that they will still have those jobs after the dust has settled. More than likely if they have not been in trouble before, they will be on probation, have to pay huge fines and pay the Non appointed Attorney fees for "being on vacation" and making the decision to be with the wanted felon. Please do not try to convince me that they did not know.

My comment about the "Vision" card still stands as a blanket comment.

-- Posted by whasup on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 11:34 PM

It might be obvious to me that some people really don't know that much about drug addiction. Its a sickness like alcoholism, eating disorders, ect. Maybe we should put all those people in prison too!

But not everyone in that car was arrested on drug related charges or is a "druggie"! So lets not start more acusations until these people have been charged! I think that is very uncalled for. Maybe some people should keep their comments and in this case, blogs to themselves.

I'm not saying drug use isn't a major concern but I'd much rather see the pictures of the convicted child molesters and rapists living in our neighborhoods on the front page.

Let's not forget that they have not been charged in the court of law. Ron may have been, but to my knowlege the other three have not.

-- Posted by Cari on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 11:18 PM

Wow - can't believe all this conversation about Vision cards and how funny it is that someone has an addiction!!! What a judgmental group... not surprised for this town. I agree completely with Cari that sometimes people get themselves into bad situations before they realize it's a bad situation and they are in so deep they can't see a way out. But there is nothing funny about addiction or what is happening to these families. Whats sad is that Ronnie has been on the run from the police for a while and ended up taking several others down with him. Yes they put themselves in the situation, but its still sad. I hope they all can get whatever help they need... even Ronnie.

-- Posted by interested1 on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 10:50 PM

Personally I feel that if EVERYONE who was arrested on drug related charges had their picture on the front page of the paper, it might make them think twice (haha)

Once people are into meth etc. they don't think about anything except their next high, they don't care about what it is going to do to their families.

I feel for the famlies who are clean, and not into breaking the law. But that is one of the fallouts of drugs. The druggie MAY go to jail, but the clean and honest people they are related to are the ones who pay the highest price.

Hopefully the law will put them away, where they belong, but even in prison they can get drugs and continue to be what THEY chose to be.

It takes a very strong person to walk away from that lifestyle. Meth is the worst drug to walk away from, and until there are some programs to really help these people this is not going to stop anytime soon.

I for one am not going to throw stones at anyone, but I do know personaly some who are into drugs, and I have made it a point to try to get them to get help, or to stay the h-e double toothpicks away from me.

We all have the choice to make in our own lives, and to do what we feel is right for us, but some will always chose the downward path. For their familes I am sorry, but for the offender NO WAY, send them away for as long as the law allows.

Whasup, you need to go to church this sunday and sit on the first row. Maybe, just maybe the preacher will give the sermon on Matthew 7:1 and 2. You need to spend more time reading the Bible versus reading the newspaper. That goes for everyone that chooses to pass judgement.

Ralph, a little harsh don't you think? Innocent until proven quilty is how I beleive it goes.

Chic, is your halo to tight? You would be easy to pick out of a crowd because you are the only perfect angle on earth! You should be ashamed of your self! You should go to church with Whasup and Ralph. All of you need to look in your own back yard!

Sometimes people get themselves into bad situations before they realize it's a bad situation. What you have read is what the police have told the newspaper. That's their side of the story. That does not make it the whole truth!

-- Posted by Cari on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 9:22 PM

ok, i do feel sorry for stacie. i don't know her personally, but what i've heard about her (i work at the same place she does) she is a good person and a hard worker. however, her husband is not. he has had trouble with drugs before. but you can see how ashamed and sad she is in her picture. she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. you can't help who you love.

as for the other 2 people arrested. they are nothing but worthless scum. ronnie bolin has had several run in's with the law, and is constantly in some form of trouble. he's always drinking, running his mouth, and getting into fights. brooke bolin used to have a good paying job, but now sits on her lazy butt all day, collecting welfare and using drugs. the picture above is a far cry from what she used to look like. anyone who knows her can see she has been using hard drugs, and the results are definitely not pretty. yes, they have children, and yes people want you to feel sorry for them for that reason. but they should have thought about those children before they got into the lifestyle they did. it's nobody's fault but their own, and i think it's funny that they finally got caught and are being punished for it.

see, i worked with brooke also, and she was always a stuck up witch who thought she was better than everyone else. well, look at you now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! guess we got the last laugh, huh?

-- Posted by that_1_chic on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 8:19 PM

I do know what the family of these kids are feeling. Everyone has did something they regret. I still think it"s a damn shame they have to be posted on the front page. I believe that the fort scott police department had it posted because of the front page posted picture on Aug 20th. That is also getting comments, and as of today it still getting comments. All these Kids have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and maybe school age kids. But for the men, and or women the having sex with kids, they don't want to post, someone might beat them up, hang them, or just pick on them. These people might have to be your neighbor, and your child might know who they are and get scared. and scared they should be.

My god do any of you realize there are twenty-four hours in a day ? Not everyone works day hours, there are so many businesses in FS that need workers in the evening and night. I am sure none of you ever made a mistake or have a child, grandchild, niece or nephew that ever did either !! Get off your high horse already

-- Posted by country_livin on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 5:07 PM

Ralph, could you please tell me what their punishment is? I haven't read anywhere what punishment they got. Have they already went to court and had a trial and been sentenced ? I must have missed it. Boy, that was a speedy trial to be arrested on Wednesday, September 29th and you say that their punishment wasn't enough for these ( dumb)-( your words)people. And as for saying that these people are dumb. Didn't your parents ever teach you that it wasn't nice to call people names !!!!!!!

-- Posted by mother-of-6 on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 4:06 PM

How long has this been going on? Way too long! It is about time they finally caught him. If the others were dumb enough to put themselves in this situation, then, the punishment isn't enough. Some people never learn and that is sad. Grow up and deal with your stupidity!

-- Posted by ralph on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 12:35 PM

ok. i dont know any of these people. not gonna try and pass judgement on them. but u know. perhaps the guy with the warrant was the one driving. and the rest of the people kind of had no choice but to go along for the ride? everyone is talking about them being around at 10:46 am so they must not work and just have to be on welfare. well u know i dont go to work till 11 on most days. and noon on at least 1 day aweek. so before we start saying mean hateful things about people we dont know. perhaps one should get the entire story first. that is all.

-- Posted by concernedcitizens on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 12:25 PM

First of all let me just say: He who is without sin cast the first stone. Stacie has a Job in which they have a benefit called Vacation and paid time off. Ever heard of it? She has never asked for state or federal assistance and never will. Stacie works 40 plus hours a week like everybody else. Now before any of you go and say something stupid, Let me add that yes Stacie should not have put herself in this position and she is paying for that now. This was mistake. She will take her medicine thats comming to her. Its easy to sit back and read a newspaper article and then judge someone without even knowing the person. I know Stacie and she is a good person a warm caring person. She has never been in any kind of trouble before. So before you go point fingers making judgements Please know what your talking about. We've all done things we regret. Stacie will continue to have love and support from those who truly know her and she will get through this.

-- Posted by msa on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 11:47 AM

I don't think this has anything to do with them working or not, there was a child involved.

-- Posted by aly on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 11:11 AM

There are always going to be some people who think that they have to come on here and post comments that they think are funny or worth saying. Well before posting comments that you think make you look better and a big shot and someone who is perfect, you might first think about the family members of the 4 people arrested. We are all hurting about this recent arrest and for you to come on here with your comments only makes us hurt more. You might get off your soapbox and think about the Grandparents, Mothers,Fathers,Children,Cousins, and Friends that are very upset. If you ever have a family member arrested, would you like to come on here and read a comment like the one you wrote ? Oh and here is a thought. Your comment about the 10:46 a.m. only being a time that you think that people work. I have a good friend that works 3 weeks and one week off, three weeks and one week off all year round. Then there are the weekend workers. the night job workers. The part-time workers. So you do not know as much as you think that you do !!!! You also just had to put a Vision card comment in your post . Why? It would sure be nice to be a perfect person such as yourself with no family members ever being in trouble. It would be nice to live in your world. I guess now you can sleep better tonight having put this comment of yours on here.

-- Posted by mother-of-6 on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 11:09 AM

In response to your questions whasup! Stacie and Jay are both employeed and do not have any state assistance of any kind, nor do they have a VISION card. They both actually both pay insuance premiums and have dual insurance coverage. Nor has the state ever paid for a dime of their groceries. They also pay taxes just like you do, to pay for those who are on these assistance programs. They both had premission from work to be off on the day of this incident. As far as their wealth to cruise the streets during business hours, because both the Jay and Stacie have been steadly employed for over 4 years as the same places, they both have vacation time. I hope this answers your questions.

Right on (showing my age) whasup!

-- Posted by Workerbee on Fri, Oct 3, 2008, at 7:46 AM

Well let's see, Wednesday at 10:46 a.m. I was working. Each one of these 4 are "WORKING" age.

I am curious to know, are they all so wealthy that they can cruise the streets of Fort Scott during normal working hours?

I would like to know if they have "Vision" cards? If they do, maybe they should be taken away and that might give them the incentive to be at work at 10:46 a.m.
