Tiger soccer suffers 4th straight shutout

Tuesday, September 30, 2008

Fort Scott High School's soccer team was shut out for the fourth consecutive match as Southeast Kansas League rival Coffeyville posted a 4-0 win at Ellis Park Tuesday evening.

Fort Scott last scored in the 66th minute of a 5-5 tie with Spring Hill on Sept. 22. They've since been shut out by Pittsburg, 2-0, defending league and State champ Independence, 7-0, Paola on Saturday, 2-0, and Coffeyville (3-0 SEK, 4-1 overall). It's been 354 minutes since Fort Scott's last goal.

The Tigers (2-4, 2-7-1) will try to break the drought Saturday at Coffeyville's tournament. Play begins at 8 a.m.
