Trip to Montana, birthday celebrations

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Ray and Carol Center, Lenexa, visited with her parents, Carney and Estalee Simpson on Sunday. They celebrated Carney's birthday at Chicken Annie's.

Dale and Betty Hixon traveled to Joplin, Mo., to do some shopping recently and enjoyed eating at the Golden Corral before leaving for home.

Eddie, Becky and Heather Karleskint enjoyed a trip to Colorado Springs, Colo. They watched their son, Tony, play football. He is a member of the Coffeeville Junior College Team.

Ron, Linda, Lindsey, and James Center, and Kelsie Jo Collins enjoyed flying to Lolo, Mont., where they visited with Bill and Laurie Center. They enjoyed sight seeing several different places. They had a cookout in the mountains, enjoyed a ride through Bitterroot Mountain range on one side and the Sapphire Mountains on the other side. They saw the first home Bill and Laurie lived in in Hamilton, Mont. On their way back, they enjoyed eating at a local restaurant in Stevensville, which was the first settlement in Montana. They visited and enjoyed swimming at the Lolo Hot Springs one evening. On Friday, they visited the Bison Museum on the Flat Head Indian Reservation. They stopped in Polson, Mont., so they could have a picnic along the shore of the Flat Head Lake, which was beautiful. Then everyone, except Bill and Laurie, were surprised when they looked up and Saw Scott Center walking toward them. He planned to come out and surprise them, but truly was more of a shock for them. They left there and traveled on to Kalispell, where they spent the night. Early the next morning they traveled to Glacier National Park where they spent the day. It is indescribable in it's beauty. They attended church Sunday, at Living Hope Fellowship, where Bill is the pastor. They were supposed to have a cookout at Chief Looking Glass Campground after church, but the rain kept them at the church, but the food and fellowship were just as good. Scott flew back to Kansas City early Monday morning, and planned to wait at the airport for the rest of the family who were flying out Monday afternoon. The plane they were to fly out on was struck by lightening as it was landing, so they extended their stay one more day. Ronette Center met them at the airport on Tuesday. After lunch, they returned home.

Mary Jo and Robbie Clements visited with her parents, Tony and Buena Karleskint.

Judy Davis and Joanne Singmaster visited with Marjorie on Sunday afternoon.

Youth of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle were treated to some delicious food at a youth fellowship after the evening service Sunday, at the home of David and Jill Hensley. Sponsors joining them were Youth Pastor Brian and Brandy Rhoades, and Ron and Linda Center.

Ron and Linda Center hosted a birthday supper, Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, for their daughter, Ronette Center. Not all of the family could join them, so they had a dinner for her on Sunday, Sept. 21, when all of them could be together.

Dean Mitchell and his wife visited Sunday evening with Marjorie Lewis. They visited and played cards.
