Frosh volleyball sweeps at Chanute

CHANUTE -- Fort Scott High's freshmen volleyball team posted a sweep in a quadrangular here Tuesday night.

First, the Tigers (6-10) beat Iola in three games, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13. Kristin Allen served for 12 points while Taylor Grant served 10 points with six aces. Jessica Cox and Heather Karleskint each had four kills. Karleskint also had three blocks.

Next, Fort Scott swept Independence, 25-23, 25-20. Krista Polk served 113 points while Danielle Lundberg served 12. Grant, Cox and Karleskint each had three kills.

Finally, the Tigers swept Chanute, 25-13, 25-23. Shelby Middleton served nine points while Lundberg and Allen and each served for eight. Allen and Karleskint had two kills each. Karleskint also recorded two blocks.

The Tigers will host quadrangulars at 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Columbus, Louisburg and Jayhawk-Linn will be the guests Monday while Parsons, Coffeyville and Chanute will visit on Tuesday.
