The contest is centered around the popular video game and is open to middle school and high school students. The entry fee is $3. The contestants will play four games with the four highest scores in both the middle school division and high school division winning a custom designed t-shirt. Spectators are welcome with a $3 admission.
The proceeds of the contest will go to the United Way of Bourbon County. In addition the concessions from the entire week will also be donated. The Keyhole is partially funded by the United Way so this is a way for the Keyhole to give back.
"It is good for the kids to help raise money for the United Way because their funding is important to the Keyhole," said Keyhole Co-director Laurie Uhler.
The kids will also benefit from the contest, according to Tyler Cruz who has attended other Guitar Hero tournaments.
"I know there are a lot of players in Fort Scott," said Cruz. "It is a great place to meet new friends and get together and do something you love."
Contestants can come to the Keyhole, located at 1002 S Main, to enter with warm-up beginning at 2 p.m. Spectators are welcome at 2:45 p.m.
