Thursday, September 18, 2008

BRONAUGH, Mo. -- Pleasanton's volleyball team defeated Bronaugh, Mo., in a non-league best-of-five dual here Tuesday night, winning in four games, 25-19, 24-26, 25-13, 25-19.

In the varsity contest, Pleasanton served eight aces, including three by Carlee Campbell, who also had 21 kills. Rachel Richmond had two aces and 12 kills.

Rachel Landrum dished 18 assists for the Blu-Jays while Johnnea Saulsberry was credited with 16. Saulsberry also had nine digs while Kim Robinson had eight and Richmond had six.

"Our girls simply found the will to win," Pleasanton head coach Danny Looney said. "After winning the first match but losing the second, I was concerned the girls would start hanging their heads as in the past. But they came out and took care of business."
