Frances Mary Robinson, 94, of Uniontown, Kan., died Saturday morning, September 13, 2008 at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. She was born September 1, 1914 in Deerfield, Mo., the daughter of Dove Augustus and Estella Mathilda Wroe McGuire. She married Earl Kenneth Robinson July 1, 1933, in Richards, Mo. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1981.
Frances graduated from the Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg, Kan. She was a School Teacher for 35 years. She taught in the Turkey Creek, Pleasant View and Walnut Hill one room schools, she then taught third and fourth grades at the Bronson Elementary School and later the Uniontown Elementary School. She was a member of the Kansas Teachers Association.
Frances is survived by five sons, Morris Robinson of Redfield, Kan., Merle Robinson of Hesston, Kan., Lynn Robinson of Redfield, Kan., Gerald Robinson of Fort Scott, Kan., and Lyle Robinson of Redfield, Kan., a daughter, Anita Ayre of Redfield, Kan., a sister, Kathryn Singmaster of Portland, Ore., 29 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Deloris Brown and a brother, Dove Augustus McGuire Jr.
Rev. Marty DeWitt will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown, Kansas.
Burial will be in the Uniontown Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
