'Hound volleyball falls at Cowley

ARKANSAS CITY -- Fort Scott Community College's volleyball team fell in three games to Cowley here Wednesday night. The Tigers came into the match ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA Pre-Season Division II poll.

Cowley won by scores of 25-7, 25-8, 25-10 and improved to 2-0 in the conference and 3-3 overall. Fort Scott fell to 0-2, 0-10.

The Greyhounds also lost four matches last weekend in a tournament at McKendree College (Ill.). They lost to Southwestern Illinois, 25-14, 25-13; Meramec (Mo.), 25-15, 25-16; John Wood (Ill.), 25-16, 25-15; and Oakton (Ill.), 25-17, 25-16.

The Greyhounds go to Nevada Saturday for a triangular hosted by Cottey College with play scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Cottey will visit Fort Scott Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. match at Arnold Arena.
