EDMUND JOSEPH BLIZNICK

Edmund Joseph Bliznick, resident of 912 Linn, Bronson, Kan., died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at his home. He was born February 11, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Michael Bliznickowicz and Victoria Guzy Bliznickowicz. He married Shirley Gogerty on February 20, 1943, in Chicago. She preceded him in death in 1983. Edmund served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He was retired as forging superintendent with Klein Tool in Moran. He was a member of the St. George Russian Orthodox Church in Chicago. Edmund was a 62 year member of the George Benjamin Post No. 795 American Legion and Post No. 6324 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Cox, Moran, Kan., Judy Newton and husband Paul, McQuaty, Ky., and Pamela Huber, Arlington Heights, Ill. Also surviving is a half-brother, Robert Bliznick, Chicago; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dominic and Michael Bliznick and a grandson, Todd Huber.

Father Alexander Bugarin will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m., Saturday, in the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Burial will follow in Bronson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Bronson Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and may be sent to Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel, P.O.
