Margaret "Peggy" Louise Richey, 66, of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 13, 2008, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott.
She was born September 15, 1941 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Frank Burton and Hazel Irene (Gorse) Rylander.
She married Gene Richey March 25, 1962, in Richards, Mo. He survives of the home.
Peggy was a teller at Citizen's Bank, and also worked at American States Insurance Company.
In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Richey and wife Pamela of Chino Valley, Ariz., a sister; Becky Fritter of Springfield, Mo., two grandsons, one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, four nieces, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kan., 66701.
