John E. Hunt, 74, of Rogers, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born April 14, 1934, in Centralia, Mo., to the late Arlie and Viola (Mentze) Hunt. He moved with his family to Rogers in 1966.

During his career years John worked as Meat Department Manager for Safeway and Piggly Wiggly grocery stores, worked at Rogers Meat Market, Crane Valve Company, Scott Paper, and Mart Cart-SMT. He was a part of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene.

John had a great sense of humor and was a great lover of people. He made a friend everywhere he went.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Arlie Hunt II and Russell Hunt and half sister, Arlene Hunt.

John is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Sandra Hunt; two daughters. Sherry Kimbro and husband Don of Rogers; Jonetta Sullivan and husband Kevin of Bentonville; one son, Tim Hunt of Bella Vista; one brother, David Hunt of Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Edna Byram of Erin, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Craig, Ryan, Jeffrey, Patrick and Megan, and eleven nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2008, at Stockdale Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alan Johnson officiating. Internment will be in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers.
