KATIE ESTELLE SISSECK

Katie Estelle Sisseck, 88, Liberal, Mo., entered through the gates of heaven on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott, Kan. She was born on February 8, 1920, in Barton Co., Mo., the fourth of six children to Tony Tolando and Sarah Elizabeth Greer Rolando.

She married Ray Earl Sisseck on April 17, 1937, in Lamar, Mo., and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1991. To this union four children were born: Robert Sisseck and his wife Brenda, Moundville, Mo., Betty Smith and her husband Marvin, Liberal, Mo., Lloyd Sisseck and his wife JoAnn, Nevada, Mo., Wayne Sisseck and his wife Mary, Deerfield, Mo., 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Hazel Marie Bogart and her husband B.H., Nevada, Mo., and many nieces and nephews and her numerous friends and loved ones of whom she spoke compassionately, including the "little frock" attending the Liberal Church of God Holiness. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hurchal, Fred, Jesse and infant Winfred.

Katie and Ray, along with her parents, re-opened the Bluff Community Church in the 1940's and she held many services there as late as 2007. Katie was Pastor of the rural Bluff Community Church, Irwin, Mo., and Church God Holiness, Liberal, Mo., for approximately 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, August 15, 2008, at the Church of God Holiness, Liberal, Mo., with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Internment will follow in Bluff Cemetery, Barton County, Mo. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., on Thursday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., on Thursday evening, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
