The event is a pep rally to give Pleasanton's fall sports teams a chance to introduce themselves to the parents and fans of Blu-Jay teams.
All fall sports participants are asked to meet on the track on the north side of the football field at 7:50 p.m. so they can be ready for their introductions.
Midnight Madness will begin at 8 p.m. The Pleasanton Junior High football and volleyball teams will be introduced first. The junior high cheerleaders follow, then the high school cheerleaders will lead the crowd in some cheers.
The PHS volleyball and cross-country teams will introduced with the Blu-Jay football team brought out to wrap things up.
PHS head football coach Chris Brindle plans to present some awards for summer strength and conditioning. Students will perform some of the activities from the summer program such as power clean and a 40-yard sprint. There will also be some other fun activities for students and fans that are in the works such as a field-goal kicking contest.
At 12:01 a.m., the PHS football team will conduct its first practice of the season for about an hour and a half under the lights at the baseball field. Parents and fans are invited to stay and watch the Blu-Jays work out.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to the north gym at PHS.
