Survivors include two sons, Jewell Smith, Jr., and wife, Connie, Girard, Kan., and Harry Smith and wife, Alberta, Independence, Kan.; two daughters, Nancy Barr and husband, Delbert, Fort Scott, Kansas, and Amanda Smith, Arma, Kansas.
Also surviving is a sister, Alice Reeder, Sparks, Nevada; two half-sisters, Opal Leigh, Girard, Kan., and Ruby Blair, Leawood, Kan.; seven grandchildren, three step granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and five step great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Jewell Marshall; a half-sister, Mabel White and two half-brothers, Sammy Roper and Ronnie Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel Eastern Star services will be provided by the Olive Chapter No. 13. Burial will follow in the U. S. National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2008, at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Eastern Star and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kan. 66701.
