According to a press release from the Fort Scott Police Department, Quintin D. Grant, 25, of 1705 E. Oak, Fort Scott, was arrested and charged with narcotics related offenses. In addition, Amanda Duvall, 22, of 1118 E. Pine, Fort Scott, was arrested and charged with narcotics related offenses. The search warrant was the result of an on-going narcotics investigation by Fort Scott Police Department Detectives.
According to court records, Grant has a history of drug-related arrests. In May of 2007, Grant faced charges that included the sale or distribution of narcotics, possession of illegal substances, and no tax stamp on drugs, in addition to various traffic related charges. In November of 1994, Grant was charged with simulated controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, possession of illegal narcotics, possession of illegal substances, possession of drug paraphernalia. As a result of these charges, Grant pleaded guilty to one count of possession of illegal narcotics, which is a Determinate Sentencing Law 4 Felony. Grant was placed in the Community Corrections Intensive Supervision Program for two years. Grant has also appeared in court on several non-drug-related charges.
July of 2007 found Grant facing charges of driving while suspended. He was charged with one count of domestic battery in January of 2007, a charge which was later dismissed. In November, 2005, he faced charges of aggravated battery; criminal deprivation of property; theft; and criminal damage to property. However, according to court documents, these charges were eventually dismissed. In addition, he was found guilty of battery in July of 2005, and was ordered to serve six months of probation with ISP (Intensive Supervision Program).
In May of 2008, Duvall was charged with one count of battery, according to court documents. The documents stated that Duvall intentionally caused physical contact to another person in a rude, insulting or angry manner, which is a class B person misdemeanor.
Now fsblondie I am saying for you to say he is not clean you must be around him get it right. Or else how would you know????? I guess you do not like a lot of people in Ft Scott because there are rumors on about everyone in the town. If he is selling drugs he needs to go to jail and thats it. I have a problem with the police not getting drug dealers they no are selling drugs.
I feel this article is a prime example of how incompetent our judicial system is. Why do we pay taxes to rehabilitate people if it does not even work? So if you want to blame someone Bourbon County, blame yourself. If i were to guess, i would say that they said 'narcotics' because all they found was pot. If thats the case i dont see why the police wasted their time, i doubt if they were hurting anybody. Sounds like this big narcotics investigation by the fspd is not doing anything but keeping the courts busy and making sure that the county is getting money. I bet the fspd makes more arrests than it needs to just to try to get a bigger budget. As far as people saying that fspd needs investigating, I agree, I think they are all fascist pigs, and are not Fort Scotts finest people. If people want them to be investigated just write or email your local state representative and voice your opinion of their misuse of funds. I have already done it:)!
It was suggested that if one knows Quinton you must be doing drugs....Think about that statment....Sounds like you know him too. I don't have to worry about my door being BUSTED down. Yes I do know Quinton from his actions not his drugs and if it was as eazy as making a public arrest he would have been off the street years ago. As for disliking Quinton and Amanda, you bet I dislike them, anyone on the right side of the law would.
I would say a person who has been staying clean to keep from going to jail, IS A CLEAN PERSON. No matter what it took to get them clean. It's still clean. fsblondie are you clean? How well do any of you know MR. Grant? If you know that he was dirty why didn't you make a citizen arrest? Have you ever seen anything? Ft. Skizzy is a place of rumor and tales, not facts. Hear say is all everyone goes by, to scared to stand up and just ask the person whats really going on. or call police when its going on. From Hall's foodmart east to the police station is where most of it starts.
This is a shame so many people just jumping on the band wagon to convict someone just by hearsay. What drugs were found since it made the front page??? It is the name Grant that people make judgement on and that is old a petty. I am a GRANT and proud of it. My grandma Nanny raised several children and several grandchildren and as she always said when we were little people will always talk about you if you are doing something right but if you do wrong they have nothing to say. Fort Scott was then and still is The Learning Tree if you go to Ft Scott on vacation you will leave on probation because you are not judged by your actions but by what you have and who you know and how much you kiss up. We were taught to not kiss up only God can judge us and that tradition will remain the same in our family. And by the way I have never been in trouble but have witnessed several family members be railroaded in the courts in Ft Scott. As far as drugs lets get real they go after people who have been in trouble before for it that way they do not have to focus on the real problem and stop the big fish but I suppose it sells papers and gets the gossip mill going. Makes it look like they really are trying to stop the problem. As for Quintin using drugs you are so wrong HE DOES NOT!!!! And yes people can change so maybe all of you who do not see a change should look in the mirror and focus on yourself because you may not like what you see in yourself and you can work on changing that. We have lived with DWB, GCYB and YRAG all our childhood and adult days in Ft Scott but it is strange we can leave and be successful. Stop having Select Drug bust if ya gonna get someone then do it stop running into empty houses.
I want to know why if Quinton is such a horrible threat to the streets of Fort Scott and has been arrested and convicted on so many felony drug charges why hasn't he been sent to prison? Bourbon County isn't worried about cleaning up the community only about making their pockets fatter! What happened to the three strike law? Only exists in Fort Scott if you don't have the money to keep paying them. Someone needs to conduct an on-going investigation on FSPD and the entire County of Bourbon. Of course I'm sure they will use his money to pay investigators off! I know people who haven't done half of what he supposedly has done and have spent 4 years in prison. As usual it's "All About The Benjamins" in Fort Scott!
I think fsblondie seems to be a customer since she knows when Mr Grant is clean or sober and so much about his business. You have to be with a person to know if they are using. Merely saying someone is using is called slander unless you have witnessed this action??? huh. AS FAR AS HIM BEING NOTHING BUT TROUBLE HOW WELL DO YOU REALLY NO HIM OR IS YOUR STATEMENT PURE HEARSAY. As far as dismissed charges they are usually dismissed if they do not have anything to go on. As far as Amanda do you know her or are you just puttin that nose where it does not belong again. Or maybe you just do not like either person. And if Grant is telling on people he sure stays in trouble and we all know that in Ft Scott that is not how it goes that is why they only go after certain people. Actions speak louder than words. No doubt Quinton is a repeat criminal weather the charges were dismissed or not. Just becasue a charge was dismissed doesn't mean it didn't happen, only that he got away with it. The only reason he would be "clean" is to try and keep out of jail this time. How many more time will the court system let this guy go....as for Amanda, if you lay with dogs your going to get fleas.
Okay now come on did the article really have to make my brother look like the bad guy!!!! Fort Scott police department really need to tighten up. Quintin has changed and if anyone can tell u it would be me. My son and several others children were there when FSPD "kicked in". My son still hasn't stopped talking about it. All summer long Quintin kept alot of the kids from the city so that they wouldn't be in trouble. Anyone that truely knows Quintin can see the change. I was also born and raised in fort scott and knows what goes on there. They need to worry about the big fish and stop harrassing others.
Oh Please! Clean? That guy? I highly doubt that! He is nothing but trouble and always has been. Of course he was still selling and I'm sure he will be out selling again in no time after he rats some more ppl out! Whomever thinks this guy is "clean" needs to wake up and look around...he is the furthest thing from clean this town has ever seen...so is she for that matter.
In November 1994 He was 11 years old of age, who got that twisted? He has made a big change in the last few months, for the good, I see it as a lesson learned. He has friends alot of friends he speaks to most of them. The fort scott finest sees, or hear about it and THINK they have a case. I believe it a name game.The name GRANT. He has done everything he was told to do. He has an uncle Shawn Grant that was railroaded by Fort Scott finest. Some of the charges that are mention above belong to shawn. Think about it, same name. Shawn took a case to jury trail once,Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, BUT 4 times on his same case. A name game. GRANT Dont believe everything you read. Another chance to railroad.
Either I can not count or someone is simply making things up this guy had to be 11yrs old when he got drug charges in 1994. My God talking bout make your own case. It does say he is 25 now right???? So you do the math he had to be 11 in 1994 . My GOD anything for a story even if it is not true. Is someone trying to railroad this guy??? Maybe he didn't buy a house or two. Go after the big fish. The key to not getting busted in Ft Scott is to buy some property rent it out do not have a job and grin like nothing matters.
First of all why are the police worried about someone who has been clean for 6 months straight and has been showing progress to changing his life around!!! Shouldn't they be worried about bigger situations? This whole deal is getting blown way out of proportion. Why bring up charges in the past? They have already been dealt with! For those that know Quintin they know he has a good head on his shoulders and has been doing the right thing! For those of you reading the article keep in mind that you are only getting to know what the city wants you too. This article is unfair and bias so don't believe everything you are reading in the above article when it comes to Quintin Grant!!
Seems to me a lot of Mr Grants charges were dismissed. I find it odd that the paper would print charges that were dropped. And as for Miss Duvall she lives on Oak street as some have been told' so they should get there story straight. Funny they never printed about what they found if it was such a sweep why is that not mentioned??? I heard they found no drugs huh???? I wonder why they have not kicked in a well known drug house in town Well known for some 10+ yrs. This guy is either to slick for the police or something is not right. We all like to see drugs off the street So I am not saying a drug bust is a bad thing but lets get some of the long overdue ones while we are doing it.
It appears to me as if probation has really worked for Mr. Grant. I think something more needs to be done.
