She was a lifelong resident of Bourbon County, and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown, and the Past Time Club. She worked as a cook in schools, restaurants, and nursing homes in the area since 1960.
Theda is survived by two sons; Steven Headley of Uniontown, Kansas, and Herbert W. Headley of Towanda, Kansas, three daughters; Patricia Christy of Hiattville, Kansas, Teresa Martin of Uniontown, Kansas, and Edith Hiskin of Belle Plaine, Kansas, fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Eileen Binford, and Barbara Franklin, and a brother; Gordon Keith.
Pastor Marty DeWitt will conduct funeral services 9:30 a.m., Thursday July 31, at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Uniontown, Kansas, with burial following at Fort Scott National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 30, from 7 p.m., until 8 p.m., at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Missionary Baptist Church, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
