Survivors include two sons, Robert Hood Jr. and John Hood, both of Pittsburg, Kan.; a daughter, Angela Lowman, Pittsburg, Kan.; nine grandchildren, and a special friend and caregiver Jan Wolfkill and her children and grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Lenora Hood and a brother, Kevin Hood, both of Fort Scott, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Edward Lee Hood.
V.F.W. Chaplin, James R. Stradley will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the United States National Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Olson Frary Burkhart Post No. 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends and family may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
