Barbara Jean Amer Yoos, age 75, a former resident of Mound City, Kan., died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Medicalodge in Nevada, Mo.

She was born September 10, 1932, on a farm west of Mound City, the daughter of Laurence Amer and Beulah Phelma Johnson Amer. She was a graduate of Mound City High School.

She married Billey Dean Yoos on December 7, 1955. They divorced in 1984. She attended the Arcadia United Methodist Church. Her lifelong devotion was to her children.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. William Lawrence Yoos and wife, Rose, Belle Vista, Ark., Steven Allen Yoos, Costa Mesa, Calif., and

Kenneth Dean Yoos, Liberal, Mo.; two daughters, Brenda Kay Larson, Deerfield, Mo., and Kimberly Jean Schneider and husband, Stan, Gentry, Ark.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John and Jim Amer, and a sister, Betty Steinshouer.

Pastor Dale Johnson will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, in the McKill Cemetery near Bronaugh, Mo. The family will leave from Cheney Witt Chapel for the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
