Eugene Cox, 68, of Blue Mound, Kan., died Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home. He was born May 14, 1940 in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Maurice and Frances Hall Cox.
He graduated from Blue Mound High School and attended Fort Scott Community College. Eugene was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Blue Mound Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Blue Mound and the Mirza Shrine, Pittsburg, Kan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Bowman.
Survivors include his father, Maurice Cox and Ann of Mound City, Kan.; one son, Kevin Cox and Tommye of Prescott, Kan.; one daughter, Sherri Spencer and Steve of Mound City, Kan.; one brother, Jim Cox and Carol of Pittsburg, Kan.; two sisters, Pat Dickinson and Jerry of Norman, Okla. and Roberta Thompson of Mound City, Kan.; a son-in-law, Rick Bowman of Mound City, Kan.; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kan.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel.
Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Foundation.
Interment will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound, Kan.
