WILMA MARIE SHINN

Wilma Marie Shinn, age 84, a resident of Gas, Kan., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Allen County Hospital in Iola, Kan. She was born October 11, 1923, in Bronson, Kan., the daughter of Edward Eastwood and Marie Jackson Eastwood. She married Danny Shinn on May 14, 1947, at Bronson, Kan. Wilma graduated from the Bronson High School and also from cosmetology school in Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Shinn made their home in Stinnett, Texas for many years prior to returning to Kansas in 1986. She enjoyed sewing. Wilma was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Iola.

Survivors include her husband, Danny, of the home in Gas; a son, Orval Shinn and wife, Jane, Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Dana Eudey and husband, Jerrell, Tulia, Texas and Lorrain Cook, Yuma, Ariz. Also surviving are two brothers, Wilbur Eastwood and wife, Marilyn, Centerville, Kansas and Dee Eastwood and wife, Erma, Bronson, Kansas; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Rev. Rob Francis will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery north of Uniontown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
