MINNIE LOUISA JOY

Minnie Louisa Joy, 81, formerly of Fort Scott, and more recently of Pittsburg, Kan., died Friday, June 6, 2008, at Carrington Place in Pittsburg. She was born September 20, 1926 in Parker, Kan., the daughter of Merit Webster and Florence Myrtle (Page) Jordan. She married Ivan Leroy Joy March 15, 1946 in Pleasanton, Kan. He preceded her in death June 2, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters; Kathleen Quinn of Clinton, Mo., and Colleen Garrett of Golden City, Mo., a son; Larry Lee Joy of Pittsburg, Kan., five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ivan, she was preceded in death by a son; Allen LeRoy Joy, an infant daughter; Charlene Lynn Joy, her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct graveside services 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m. for a visitation prior to services, and leave for the cemetery at 12:15 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W.
