Bronson Chapter No. 65, Order of the Eastern Star met Wednesday evening, May 28. It opened in form with 16 officers and 20 guests present.

Worthy Matron Martha Heffernon welcomed all and read a verse.

Presented at the Altar, introduced, welcomed, escorted to the East and given Grand Honors were the Worthy Grand Matron, Karen J. Adams, and Worthy Grand Patron, David L. Rake, of the Grand Chapter of Kansas. A song "Family of God" was sang by Julia Ann Rhoton and Geri Reeder with Lorna Carlton at the piano.

Other guests were Shirley Palmer, GGCCM, Education Chairman, General Grand Chapter, and Kathryn L. Johnston, Associate Grand Conductress, Grand Ruth, Nancy Kernick, Don Blantore, Grand Organist, Anna Chalmers, Grand Warder, and all Worthy Grand Officers.

Visiting Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons presented, introduced, and welcomed were: Larry Swaim, Sharon Utley, Charlotte Swaim, and Mary Ellen Godsey. Grand Representative was Charlotte Swaim.

Husbands, wives, and all visitors were introduced and welcomed, then a poem was read.

Tom Johnson, Grand Steward, Grand Council Cryptic Masons of Kansas.

Excellent High Priest of Iola No. 8 RAM, District Aide Mary Ellen Godsey, Conductress, Erma Eastwood and Associate Conductress, Elsie Faye Weast, gave a part of the Initiation Ceremony in the West.

A letter from Kay Hill was read, telling about the June 25 meeting to be held at Moran with Moran and Bronson hostesses. The meeting will be at 7:30.

It was reported that Dee Eastwood is better. Also, Glenn Smith received a bad burn on both hands during Bronson Day, he is doing ok. Elizabeth Lundberg is much better. Louis Pool was absent. Janice Olson reported on Ruth Caldwell and husband Ken. Ruth now has 24 hour care and Ken has pneumonia.

Good of the Order: Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron Martha Heffernon and Jim Heffernon presented the Worthy Grand Matron, Karen Adams and Worthy Grand Patron, David L. Rake, a bag to collect items in as they journeyed the Chapter Room. Adah read a line and gave a gift, Ruth read a line and gave a gift of gum, and Esther read a line and gave a gift of chocolate kisses. Associate Matron and Patron read a line and gave a gift of tootsie rolls, Martha read a line and gave a match and Electra read a line and gave a gift.

Then presented to the the Worthy Grand Matron and Worthy Grand Patron was a lifetime membership, presented by Worthy Matron Ednamarie Jackson and Worthy Patron Glenn Smith from the Bronson Chapter No. 65.

Worthy Matron, Martha Heffernon thanked those who cleaned and helped get the room in order. Then she thanked Karen J. Adams for the use of her bible.

Many verses, lines and poems were read during the meeting.

The flower fund was given to the Worthy Grand Matron to use on one of her special projects.

Worthy Patron Jim Heffernon had a closing thought and then the Worthy Grand Patron responded chapter closed.

Finger foods were given by all Bronson officers and coffee and water was served to 16 officers and 20 guests.

Glenn and Retta Smith will bring refreshments for the next meeting.
