Pleasanton finished third as a team in the Uniontown Class 2-1A Regional Golf Tournament at the Fort Scott Country Club Monday, automatically qualifying its entire team for next week's Class 2-1A State Tournament at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City.

The Blu-Jays shot 384 as a team, earning one of the three berths reserved for full teams. Meanwhile, two Uniontown golfers will also go to State as their scores were among the five best turned in by individuals on non-qualifying teams.

Pittsburg Colgan won the Regional after winning a tie-breaker with Marmaton Valley after each shot 346. The fifth golfer's score was the tie-breaker.

Pleasanton's Joey Morrisey led area golfers with a fifth-place score of 85. Teammate Kolbee McKee was sixth with an 86.

Marmaton Valley's Gavin Cole was the individual medalist with a score of 79, one ahead of Colgan's Charlie Sloan.

Uniontown's State qualifiers are Colt Bartlell and Justin Query. Each shot a 96 as they tied for 14th place.

Other Pleasanton scores were the 106 by Matthew Schmidt and 107 from Cody Shrum which helped the Blu-Jays advance to State. Kyle Walker shot 116 and Jeff Fairbanks came in with a 116.

For Uniontown, Silas Bloesser shot a 105 and Richard Rhoades scored a 127. The Eagles shot 424 to place sixth as a team.
